The fifth season is a largely unknown, additional season, only experienced in a specific, parallel universe. This “cloniverse” was accidentally created by scientists who were working in secret bunkers deep under the Sahara Desert.
They were doing further experiments regarding the splitting of atoms in 1918, after it was discovered how to split the atom in the previous year.
The Sahara Desert experiments were kept secret, as it was thought that having an extra season, Winsprinsumaut, would cause widespread confusion.
